Condition

Carbonic Anhydrase VI Deficiency

Carbonic anhydrase VI deficiency is a shortage or malfunction of an enzyme in saliva that helps balance mouth acidity, buffers acid that would otherwise wear at teeth, and supports taste buds. Little research on supplements for it has been reviewed here so far, so there are no trial findings to report yet. Because the condition is rare and under-recognized, what is known about oral health support comes mostly from studies of the wider population rather than people with this deficiency.
