Condition
Cushing's Disease
Cushing's disease is a hormone condition in which a small pituitary tumor makes too much ACTH, driving the adrenal glands to overproduce cortisol. In a phase III trial of pasireotide, a medicine with strong evidence, 25% reached normal urinary cortisol by six months and 76% saw levels fall. Cortisol dropped within two months and stayed lower for up to 24 months, but roughly three in four people still did not reach normal levels.
