Condition
Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder (PMDD)
Premenstrual dysphoric disorder is a severe form of premenstrual syndrome in which the body seems unusually sensitive to normal hormone shifts, bringing mood swings, irritability and physical discomfort before a period. The evidence is strongest for calcium, where trials found mood and physical symptoms eased, with vitamin B6 and vitex backed by moderate evidence. For depression symptoms specifically, though, inositol showed no clear difference across five small studies.
