Supplement
Jujube is the sweet, datelike fruit of the Ziziphus jujuba tree, used for centuries in traditional Asian cooking and herbal practice and rich in plant compounds and fiber. People mostly look at it for constipation, and a small controlled trial of 37 people found their constipation symptoms improved. Because that is a single small study, the evidence is limited, and it says little yet about how well the results hold up in larger or more varied groups.
