Studied intervention

Laughter Yoga

Laughter yoga is a group practice that combines deliberate laughing exercises with yogic breathing, and it aims to lift mood by triggering the body's relaxation response. People mostly look at it for stress, but a trial in 83 nursing students found no clear difference in stress symptoms or in well-being, and the evidence is very limited. That is only one small study in one group of students, so it says little about how laughter yoga might work for other people or over longer periods.
