Supplement
Trehalose is a natural sugar made of two linked glucose molecules, found in mushrooms, yeast and some plants, where it helps cells withstand drying and oxidative stress. Most people look at it for dry eye, and the evidence is moderate: in two trials of eye drops, dry eye symptoms improved. Those studies were small, involving only 70 people in total, so the findings are early and say little about long-term use.
