Condition
Diffuse Esophageal Spasm
Diffuse esophageal spasm is a condition in which the esophagus squeezes in an uncoordinated way instead of a smooth wave that pushes food down, causing chest pain and trouble swallowing. Peppermint oil, a smooth muscle relaxer, is the main supplement people look at, but little research on it has been reviewed here so far. Magnesium, ginger and melatonin come up too, with support mostly from how they act in the body.
