Mood Improvement

Mood is shaped by a balance of brain chemicals such as serotonin and dopamine, along with inflammation, the body's stress response and nutritional status. Saffron and vitamin D have the most support, and trials found anxiety symptoms improved with both, though the effects were small. The vitamin D trials were mostly in young girls with low levels and premenstrual mood troubles, and the saffron studies totaled only about 200 people, so the evidence is moderate at best.
