Condition
End-Stage Renal Disease
End-stage renal disease is when the kidneys have lost nearly all function, letting toxins, fluid, and minerals build up in the blood and making dialysis or a transplant necessary. Among supplements, L-carnitine and cordyceps have the most support, with moderate evidence: trials found blood pressure improved with L-carnitine, and blood urea nitrogen went down with cordyceps. Those studies were small, and several other supplements showed no clear difference in inflammation.
