Hair Loss
Hair loss, or alopecia, is thinning or shedding of scalp hair, with causes ranging from genetics to nutrient shortfalls to medical conditions. Among supplements, the evidence is moderate for biotin, iron and zinc, all linked to hair loss when the body is low in them. Evidence is thinner elsewhere: two small trials of probiotics, with 219 people, found no clear difference in hair regrowth.
