Condition

Hyperthyroidism

Hyperthyroidism is a condition in which the thyroid gland makes too much thyroid hormone, speeding up the body's metabolism. Little research on supplements for it has been reviewed here so far, though L-carnitine and selenium have been studied in Graves' disease, with moderate evidence. Calcium with vitamin D is also studied because bone loss speeds up, but evidence for vitamin D or magnesium alone is limited.
