Condition
Rett Syndrome (RTT)
Rett syndrome is a rare genetic disorder, caused by changes in the MECP2 gene, in which girls who seem to develop normally for the first year or so lose skills such as purposeful hand use and speech. Little research on supplements for it has been reviewed here so far, so there are no trial findings to report yet. Vitamin D, melatonin and calcium are the names that come up most, mainly for bone health and sleep, but that interest rests on how they work in the body rather than on results in Rett syndrome.
