Condition

Sarcoidosis

Sarcoidosis is an inflammatory disease in which clusters of immune cells called granulomas form, most often in the lungs and lymph nodes, for unknown reasons. Omega-3 fatty acids and curcumin draw the most interest as anti-inflammatory options, but the evidence for both is limited, and a tiny quercetin study of 12 people found no clear difference in inflammation. Vitamin D and calcium are special cases, since granulomas can activate vitamin D and raise blood calcium.
