Centrophenoxine is a compound made from DMAE and a plant-growth-hormone-like acid, and it is thought to support the brain's cell membranes and neurotransmitter building blocks. People mostly look at it for cognitive function, and older studies in elderly people with cognitive decline found improvements in memory, attention, and mental clarity, though the evidence is limited. Those studies date from the 1960s to 1980s and fall short of modern quality standards, and work on lipofuscin, a cellular aging marker, came mostly from animal or lab studies.
