Kokilaksha

Kokilaksha, also known as Asteracantha longifolia, is a herb long used in Ayurvedic tradition. The best-supported finding is for the liver: in animal studies, its extracts reduced markers of liver damage, though the evidence is very limited. No human trials have tested this, and the same is true of early lab hints at antioxidant effects and its traditional reputation as an aphrodisiac.

Glycogen Synthesis

In rodent models, Kokilaksha extracts enhanced glycogen synthesis. This effect has not been studied in humans and the mechanism is not well characterized.

Sexual Function

Kokilaksha has a traditional Ayurvedic reputation as an aphrodisiac, with some animal studies exploring this claim. There is no scientific validation of aphrodisiac effects in human subjects.
