Cycling Performance

Cycling performance is how well a rider can produce and sustain power, which depends on aerobic capacity, efficiency, and the ability to keep working hard through climbs and sprints. The evidence is strongest for caffeine and beetroot juice, and in trials caffeine improved aerobic measures of exercise by a moderate amount. Studies of beta-alanine and sodium bicarbonate were much smaller, so their benefits for hard efforts remain limited.
