Condition

Spinal Cord Injury

A spinal cord injury is damage to the nerves running through the spine, which causes paralysis and loss of sensation below the injury and can affect bones, bowel, bladder, circulation and skin. Vitamin D and calcium are the supplements most often looked at, mainly for the rapid bone loss that follows injury. Little research on them in this condition has been reviewed here so far, so no trial findings can be reported yet.
